Lathrop states that M.A. Bonner's brother and sister lived with them for a while. In the 1860 census James Bonner is listed right after the Smith family. She later says the name of this brother was "Robert". Could this be a memory fai lure? She was 87 at the time of this letter. Mary Lathrop says that this Robert was a "very wealthy man, who lived in New York" and "made his money on horses" |
