"There is a Raile family website that has some of the earlier history of the family, their migration down the Danube to what is now Moldavia. A couple generations later, Frederick went from there to Jerusalem (via several other locations), then on to Utah. He was a talented man, a pattern maker by trade, who also built fine carriages and wagons, and engaged in import and export (he spoke at least some German, English, French, Turkish, Arabic, and Russian). While in Russia he learned herbal medicine and was much in demand for his teas and remedies". (from Roderick Saxey, Raile descendant, at docsaxey@hotmail.com Feb 14, 2011)
