Alvina Auerlich Gand

Mrs. Alvina Gand, 94, formerly of 1401 S. Pasfield St., died at 1 a.m. Sunday at St. Joseph's Home following an illness of two months. She was born in Germany, the daughter of Herman and Augustine Henning Auerlich. A resident of Springfield for 75 years, Mrs. Gand was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Altar and Rosary Society and WCO of St. Anne Court. Surviving are two sons, Joseph of Peoria and Arthur of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Edward Jansen of Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Kruenegal and Mrs. Tillie VonBehren of Vandalia; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Richard Niebrugge officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Date: Monday, February 3, 1969 |
